The Association was created in 1969 with the purpose of promoting the common heritage of France and Canada, with special emphasis placed on the legacy of Jacques Cartier. Born from the France-Canada Association, and presided by Mr Gilles Foucqueron, the Association manages the operations and development of the Jacques Cartier Manor House Museum. It plays a key role in the life of the museum by taking an active part in the planning of the various activities being held each year.
One of its main objectives is to foster, through various activities, a closer relationship with both French and Canadian cultural, educational and commercial insititutions.
The Association meets the first wednesday of each month to hold a conference and a dinner.
